Hannover / April 22, 2024 - April 26, 2024
Hannover Messe 2024
At Hannover Messe 2024, we will present our application-oriented developments for fuel processing from all conventional and renewable fuels.
Our topic at the Fraunhofer joint booth in hall 2 booth B24 is ammonia- and methanol based systems for climate-friendly stationary and decentralized energy supply. Our applied research is in the areas of:
One topic at the special exhibition area Hydrogen + Fuel Cells Europe in hall 13 booth C47/1 is hydrogen technology solutions in the field of power-to-gas processes, such as methanation in compact microstructured reactors. We will also be presenting reformer systems with which hydrogen carriers such as methanol, ethanol and synthetic hydrocarbons can be used for hydrogen-based stationary and mobile energy supply. For these reformer systems, we develop catalysts and catalytic coatings for microstructures that are optimally adapted to the respective reactor type and the scaling of your process.
The topic at the FNR joint stand in hall 2 booth A35 is methanation. As part of the ICOCAD2 project, Fraunhofer IMM is developing catalysts with which the methane yield from biogas plants can be increased and CO2 emissions from biogas plants can be reduced at the same time. In addition to the combustion of fossil fuels, carbon dioxide is also produced in large quantities as a by-product of biogas plants or biorefineries and escapes unused into the atmosphere. However, this carbon dioxide was previously removed from the atmosphere by plants and is therefore already CO2-neutral. The ICOCAD project aims to utilize this existing but previously unused resource by converting the carbon dioxide into methane in combination with hydrogen, which comes from the surplus production of electrical energy from wind and solar parks.
