1. What is the difference to available technologies?
IMM´s technology is based on microstructured components and enables a precise control over the formulation process, being the basis for customized and reproducible product properties. It is applicable for a broad range of materials and can cover different methods for formulation of droplets or capsules in a size range from 100 nm to 50 µm. The technology combines emulsification, reaction, purification, and solvent evaporation. Up to 8 components can be simultaneously emulsified/encapsulated, thereby recycling and re-use of solvent (if applicable) is possible. Moreover, the technology is modular and scalable.
2. For which systems IMM continuous formulation technology can be used?
Our technology can be applied for processing of emulsion-based and solution-based systems up to 350 °C and 100 bar.
3. Which materials can be processed?
Our technology can handle hydrophilic and hydrophobic liquids with viscosities up to 5,000 cps. Moreover, dispersions of organic and inorganic materials with average particle sizes up to 1 µm can be processed.
4. Which production scale can be reached with your set-ups?
The production scale depends on the product requirements and materials properties but lies typically between1 and 50 kg/day with one microstructured unit (numbering-up possible).
